Siskiyou County is a county located in the northwestern part of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2021 census, the population was 44,118. Its county seat is Yreka and its highest point is Mount Shasta. It falls within the Cascadia bioregion. Siskiyou county borders the California counties of Modoc, Shasta, Trinity, Humboldt and Del Norte.Siskiyou county is in Northern California in the Shasta Cascade. Siskiyou county borders the state of Oregon. Per the 2010 census the population of Siskiyou county was just under 45,000.Siskiyou County is in the Shasta Cascade region along the Oregon border. Yreka is home to the College of the Siskiyou’s, a public two-year community college. Including Yreka there are 9 cities in Siskiyou county and over 35 census-designated places and unincorporated communities. The largest of these are Mount Shasta, Weed, Dunsmuir, and Montague.

Interstate 5, which runs through Yreka, is the main transportation route north and south. U.S. Route 97 also provides transportation access north and south from Weed to the Oregon border. State Route 3, 89, 96, 139, 161, 263 and 265 interconnect the remaining communities. There is an Amtrak Station in Dunsmuir.
